I apologize for the shameless self-promotion, but just giving a heads-up to what else you can do with the SIO2 engine:

Feel free to ask any questions - I know very little about openGL ES extensions but I may be of some use regarding sio2 integration with UIkit, sqlite, etc.
Bonus points if you can guess which sio2 sample code gave me the idea. =D
