that's my problem. this pause button is an alpha image mapped to a plane. the alpha channel is soft on the edges. when exportet to sio it looks like this. the edges are totaly hard. i need my soft edges back! Smile

When you make the selection for the alpha layer are you using color select? I was having this problem to but I think it is fixed if you go into the Select window in Photoshop and click color select. I could be wrong but that is what I seemed to have to do. Hope this helps

i always use CTRL + click on my layer. i get my object selected (it selects even semi transparent pixels) than i go into channels and click on create alpha. i get perfect alpha channel doing this method. it looks perfectly in blender but sucks in sio. dont know why :/

This is one reason I like .PNG over .TGA.

Check the *matte* on your transparent image.

Also, try using another exporter, different ones seem to treat .TGA differently.

I have the same issue: png file, alpha texture with soft edge and on blender I selected Material->map to->Value. I got hard ugly edge: the image is good because blender show it the right way. Maybe I'm wrong with the Value blending mode? I tried Multiply too but i get the same results..

Use Color instead of Value... this have changed internally since 1.4.0
