Using iPhones keyboard

Couldn't find a better place on this forum to post this. How can I use the keyboard to write a name for a high score? I want to make my own keyboard but I don't have time for it

How about the old style arcade games where you scrolled through letters and entered three initials?

You could use the iPhone keyboard for that, but you'd have to add a textfield (e.g. in interface builder or via code) that becomes the first responder to let the keyboard slide out. We use that in our game iPentris for entering the name when submitting highscores and it works without problems.
