Game engine in blender

I am new to SIO2, but something is not clear to me. Does SIO2 take any of the game logic from the blender game engine or does that have to be programmed in x-code?

SIO2 is only using blender to export geometry, materials and other properties... Why Blender well its because its free, so anybody can you SIO2 out of the box and start developing... I could have been any other modeling software using a scripting language that is able to output some text files.
