center new? and what you do...

I have noticed in all your blender tutorials you click the center new button often, I was just wondering what that was really for... sorry for the newb question.

It's good practice to export your objects positioned at the origin, with the pivot centered (center new). Then you can do your positioning in code.

Of course, if your app depends on a specific pivot point, then you can definitely do that in Blender.
