SIO2 md2 Tutorial

Is there any chance that someone could put together a quick tutorial on how to output an md2 from Blender? Even a quick explanation here would be a great help...

I took a look through the eporter script already. Unfortunately, I am super new to Blender. I've been going through tons of Blender tutorials to learn it but I couldn't find much info on the md2 exporter. What are the steps involved? Do you just make an animation and run the script to export it or is there more to it?

I hate to ask for more than what's already been offered, but I could use some MD2 help as well. I've googled but am not getting very far. A tutorial showing how these objects are created and exported would be great and appreciated.

I third that. I know that sio2 is wayyyy busy, but I think that tutorial13 would be a great candidate for a video tutorial.

I am exporting md2 without any problems with this script:

(the one that says md2tagexport.ms) there is also an importer in case needed.

the only "problem" that it has is that I don't know if you can't put fancy names to the keyframes, anyways I don't use these names. just remember your state change keys and thats all.

I second that video 13! I understand that he isbusy but he could leave off another page with instructions or the code to use md2s. I am very familiar with md2s. They can be easily made with blender but you can also get them from many different sites free. Polycount.com I belive has a lot of free md2 characters.

>> I agree, but actually a video tutorial is a bit out of scope compared to the other ones since it doesn't demonstrate SIO2 functionalities, MD2 is not an SIO2 fileformat... SIO2 only provide the loader... However I will still try to find some time to introduce to the community how to do it...

My bad! But yeah their should be someone to make the videos for you if you can't! Maybe you should apoint someone as your camera man! They could record it, send it to you and you upload it to your YouTube account.

i am currently looking exporting some of my own animations, and am a little bit lost. did you mean the exporter directory in the sio2 sdk ? i can't find this script.

What exactly are you trying to do? If you are looking for the MD2 exporter... its embedded inside blender...

ok thank you. currently i am trying to understand tutorial 14 and then perhaps move on to create something similar of my own design. i was confused by the mention of a md2 exporter python script within the exporter folder (which i couldn't find). i'll just carry on and work with the blender exporter.
