Rigid object sometimes falling through a static floor.

Rigid object sometimes falling through a static floor.
I'm trying to implement a coin flipper in my app and I'm having issues with keeping the coin from falling through the floor. It will work fine for a bit, then after a couple of flips it'll drop right through, or get stuck half-way, then fall through. Occasionally it'll just fall through the first time. I have other objects that will work just fine on the same static plane. Its just the coin. I've tried upping the poly count on both the coin and plane with no luck. I tried to change the bounds from cylinder to convex hull and that doesn't work. I've changes the fps and the physics stepping, nothing seems to work. My normals check good and I have proper vertex groups. I have no clue what to do next. I've been working on this issue for about 20 hours trying everything. If anyone has any advice I'll greatly appreciate it. I'm also having an issue trying to implement shadows. I've used tutorial 04 as a guide and the program runs fine but I don't get shadows. Is there any guidance on shadows? Thanks so much for the engine, it helped my app reach a higher level of quality then I thought possible.

This is a common issue. Use the advanced search, and search for "floor" and "falling".

I looked all over the forums and still haven't found anything that helps. Also I can't get shadows to render

Re: Rigid object sometimes falling through a static floor.
I found a temp fix for it. I know you mentioned margins for planes and to set them higher. When I did this the coin would bounce around at strange angles on the plane. So I actually just built a box right underneath the plane and now everything works fine. Except I still can't get those shadows. Is there anyone who has done shadows out there who can help. I've put objects into tutorial 04 and tagged those for shadows and that works. I've used the same code to use planar shadows for my project and it still doesn't work. I have my own lamp in the blender scene, is that the problem?
