Camera falls straight through floor in tutorial06?
Hi,
I follow the video tutorial06 to add a plane as floor, and set its physics property in blender as tutorial shows. However, the camera still falls through the floor.
I simply turn on the Logic -> "Actor" option of floor in blender. Did I miss something? Thanks.

Thanks for reply quickly.
I have set it as a static object, but no luck. The camera still falls through the plane. Any idea?
PS. I use blender 2.49 ver.

What is the bound type? Open the original tutorial6 blend file and make sure everything is the same, For the camera too..
Re: Camera falls straight through floor in tutorial06?
Yes, I have copied each physics settings from tutorial06 for both plane and camera, but still no luck.
Plane: Static - Actor, Triangle Mesh Bounds
Camera: Box Bounds
I have uploaded my test blender file to rapidshare:

Please kindly help me about this problem. I am new to SIO2 and I know it could be a simple question, however, I already spent much time on this issue. Thank you once again for your kindly help.

Unclick the bound button for the camera.. There's an issue with triangle mesh.. don't really know much about it. If the camera still fall trough, change the bound type of the floor to convex hull

>> This have no effect... You have to set the camera collision in code like in tutorial061 ~ 062

>> There's only 1 type that can be use for camera and its basically Cylinder
If the camera still fall trough, change the bound type of the floor to convex hull
>> Convex hull still receive gravity and is heavy in calculation... It is probably the worst suggestion considering what the user want to do... Triangle Mesh work perfectly fine for any type of ground.

Do you use the same project template provided with the SDK (tutorial61) or you recreate it by yourself?
Re: Camera falls straight through floor in tutorial06?
Yes, I used the logic parameters of tutorial06.sio2 provided in SDK, but could not to create the same effect.
I also tried to create a ground used tutorial9.sio2 logic parameter (ground: simply static actor, no bounds type, camera: no settings in logic), but the camera still fall through the ground. I finally copied entire ground object from tutorial09.sio2 and it works.
It is strange that I can't create ground myself (used the same logic parameters in tutorials)?

You need to reset the ground mesh scale to 1
Camera falls through because you have NOT reset the scale to 1 on the plane mesh.
select the plane (triangle mesh) and then hit Ctrl-A and pick 'Scale & Rotation to obData'
save and re-export - it should work.

Hi Francescu,
After reset the scale to 1 on the plane mesh, it works. Thanks for your great help.
