create menu or interface with blender

From you guys' discussion, I noticed some one said he just use blender to create menu or interface,
I want to know the detail steps.

no you can't do it... widgets have to be handled separately...

I think your looking for manic marble, it doesn't have a "normal" menu, but a 3d scene. there's a lite version you could check out, but I would rather go with a menu using widgets or draw it manually with opengl

Just out of curiosity, how are people handling menu backgrounds? Considering that the iPhone is 480 x 320, but widgets need to be powers of 2, how do people get backgrounds without stretching / squashing the image?

Take a look at the code for loading the SIO2 splash screen (tutorial 17 if I'm not mistaken). Pretty good example.

Yup, that's one... if you want a full example of an interactive menu with labels, checkbox, progress bar etc... take a look at the source code of iZenGarden.
