Blender 2.5 - any plans?

Hi,
I'm following Blender development, and as We know Blender 2.5 will have tons of changes - the biggest and most important are in animation system. I am afraid about SIO2 exporter - is there a plan of rewriting exp script for blender 2.5?
I'm asking, be cause 2.5 have better performance then 2.4x on leopard
Anyway - is there anyone who knows how to avoid ogl problems on macbook?
