Collada import/export Empty Collada import/export

It would be very nice if you could support the open Collada standard art assets, I believe importer and exporter sample code is freely available at http://collada.org. This would make it possible to import from almost any 3D package, not just Blender.
thank you

the sio2spes are in a PDF file. Feel free to add support or exporters for any and all 3d programs.

Well like uprise mention you have the full file format specification inside the SDK, check for the following file in /docs/fileformat_specification.pdf

Collada import/export Empty solved?

Oh, of course ... you can import your assets into Blender and then convert them to SIO2 format.

Now, if I can make that work with Maya sources on a Windows box I'll be all set. Cool

Just write a script in mel that export the value based on the SIO2 file format specification and you're in business Wink

It's been a long time since I worked with Mel, but I'm willing to offer advice where needed.

Rom's right, it's should be a fairly straightforward task.

I will say, however, that while I was initally resistant to learning Blender, it's really pretty much the same thing as Maya, as least when it comes to making simple games. By far, the worst thing about Blender is the god-awful file dialogs....

hehe I agree there dialogs need a bit of reconstruction to make it more clear and faster to deal with large amount of data. Wink
